How do we honor the season of winter with its more introverted and inward quality? How do we rest? Bears hibernate- they know how to rest well. Our culture makes it hard to feel that we can rest or that we are even worthy of rest. Join us in this discussion as we come upon the winter solstice. Please listen to the episode ahead of time and jot down notes/journal and bring your thoughts with you to the circle. From the We Can Do Hard Things podcast episode #139 | No More Grind - How to Finally Rest with Tricia Hersey.
We will gather before the service on Sunday, December 15th, 2:45-3:45. Cookies provided. Please bring yourself a beverage. RSVP to Shannon @ fletchersm999@gmail.com.

Behold: A Longest Night Service
For those who have experienced loss, the joy of the holiday season can often feel elusive and out of reach. As a result, churches around the world have adopted the practice of having a “Blue Christmas”' or a “Longest Night” service during the Advent season. These services are designed to provide space for prayer, reflection, and remembrance amidst the twinkle lights and holiday hustle and bustle.
This December 19th at 7pm all are welcome to participate in an intentionally curated space for cultivating one’s ability to Behold. Behold God, Behold One’s Self, Behold Another. Bring your grief. Bring your weariness. Bring your fatigue, and allow yourself a quiet space to reflect and draw near to God. We will provide a space of calm, quiet, and healing in hopes that you might find peace in your journey.
Worship: With Nature, Advent Lantern Walk
Join us at the Advent Lantern Walk! We will celebrate the season of Advent and hold both the beauty of the light and darkness together. This celebration is happening when our days are getting shorter and nights growing longer in the moments leading up to the winter solstice. It will be a moment together to connect to the rhythms of nature, community, and the light of Christ we carry within. We will be meeting at 4pm in the parking lot at the East Boulder Recreation Center (east side of the parking lot). We will enjoy warm drinks, simple prayers, and then take a short easy walk on the Bobolink Trail with our lanterns (All Souls will provide lanterns). Please feel free to invite neighbors and friends. All are welcome!
Christmas Eve Service
This season, we are partnering with Pine Street Church to celebrate Christmas Eve. On December 24, there will be two candlelight services: 4pm and 6pm. We hope to celebrate with you on Christmas Eve!

Sunday Worship: With Service (5th Sunday Lunch)
Sunday worship, with service, is a humble and courageous opportunity to connect and serve the greater community around us. On Sunday, December 29th, Pine Street and All Souls are excited to join together and offer our 5th Sunday lunch to the community. There will be no afternoon worship service at 4pm.
We are putting on a special home-cooked meal this time, and we need your help! We are looking for our usual preparation, serving, and clean-up volunteers, but this time we have a further need for volunteers to make decorations and make and bring side dishes. The cooking crew will be preparing turkey, ham, dressing, cranberry sauce, and dessert, but everything else will come from volunteers. We are looking for people to bring hot potato dishes, hot sweet-potato dishes, and other hot or cold dishes or salads.
If you are volunteering to prep, serve, or clean up, you are welcome to bring your elementary-age and older children. Just let us know how many in your family will be coming by noting it in the comment section of the sign-up. Questions? Please reach out to Jim Biard or Allie Cote. Sunday Worship: Living Room Conversation
Belonging Starts with Conversation
Living Room Conversation connects people across divides and within communities to build understanding through conversation. This Sunday gathering is structured to increase understanding, reveal common ground and allow us to discuss possible solutions. Living Room Conversations use conversation guides with a structured format to help people with different viewpoints and experiences build understanding. There will be 4-6 other people at a round table. It is not a debate and the goal is not to change one another’s opinion. There are Conversation Agreements like “Listen and Be Curious” and “Show Respect and Suspend Judgment” that create the framework for diving into the questions. The questions are designed to draw out our personal experiences rather than opinions around the topic. The overall purpose is to learn more about the experiences others have and build a sense of community. Come join the conversation.

Contemplative Circle
So much of our Christian tradition has been rooted in contemplative and mystical practices such as meditation, centering prayer, lectio divina, and imaginative scripture. During this season of practicing, join us Thursdays at 12pm at Pine Street church for a time to sit in contemplative practices together. Please enter the building through the door off of the ramp on the west side of the building. Questions? Please email staff@allsoulsboulder.org.
Sunday Worship: With Contemplation
Please join us for our Sunday worship service at Pine Street Church! A Sunday worship service, with contemplation, is a liturgical service engaging in ancient and traditional practices to experience the presence of God. Kids have their own time of gathering during the service.
Kids Circle
We are excited for kids to connect with each other! These Sunday gatherings give a space for kids to be with their age group, read and listen to Scripture and stories, practice moments of prayer and quiet and engage in art and play. Kids begin in the worship service with their caregivers, and they will be dismissed at the children's blessing. If you have questions, please contact Rachel Zylstra.

Scripture Circle with Tara Owens
Join us for a Scripture Circle with spiritual director Tara Owens! These circles are a unique opportunity to encounter and wrestle with the ancient biblical texts in a safe, intimate gathering. No one else has your story and gifts and the perspective that you bring to seeking God in sacred community, and we're excited to join with you in this vibrant and transformative study circle.
We’ll be gathering in the community room at Pine Street Church. Please note there are 2 options for pricing. The $25 option covers the cost of the event, and the $35 option helps cover first time attendees and scholarships. Please choose the price that works for you! If this is your first experience attending a Scripture Circle, we invite you to sign up for free (please use the code SCRIPTURE24 when you checkout). Questions? Check out the information page, or email Melissa Dykhuis.
Women's Circle
On November 14th, we invite the women of All Souls to gather around the theme of "Darkness" as we step into a new season. This time will include contemplative reading, thoughtful discussion, and time to connect and socialize. Whether you're new to All Souls or have been part of our community for years, this is an opportunity to build a supportive, inclusive space where we can embrace the beautiful, imperfect journey of living and growing in faith alongside one another.
If you have any questions, please reach out to Caroline Gezon and Megan Thomson.

Listen & Discuss Circle
Join us for a listen and discussion circle seeded by the podcast episode "How ‘Wintering’ Replenishes" by Katherine May in On Being by Krista Tippett. These discussions are not about debate or even finding solutions but rather a way to connect and get to know each other in a deeper, more meaningful way. The podcast simply is a "seed" to get us started. In scripture we find many references to "seeds" and planting. Seeds can hold great potential: What wants to come to fruition or not? What helps us feel "fed?" Please join us! Listen to the podcast prior to meeting and jot down notes to bring along. We will meet on Sunday, November 10th, from 2:45-3:45. Please RSVP to Tim Percival (pertimlane@gmail.com).

Sunday Worship: With Wonder (All Souls Day)
We invite you to join us for a special All Souls Day Worship Service on Sunday, November 3rd. This will be a time to Worship with Wonder and spend some time in remembrance, reflection, and honoring our loved ones who have passed.
We will gather for a potluck meal, featuring family recipes, after the service. Please bring a dish to share, along with a note about its significance or a memory associated with it. Let’s come together as a community to celebrate the lives of those we cherish. We look forward to seeing you there!
